Day 1 - Calgary to Banff
A ROAM representative will meet you at the Calgary International Airport or if you prefer, in Banff. Once the vans are loaded, we will head west into the Rocky Mountains. The drive will be approximately one and a half hours and the scenery is outstanding. After a leg-stretching and awe-inspiring hike, we’ll tour the town-site and rendezvous for dinner. Tonight we enjoy fine dining and spend the night at Buffalo Mountain Lodge in Banff National Park.
Day 2 - Banff to Emerald Lake
After a great breakfast, it’s off to Lake Louise for a morning hike around its fabled namesake and then a dramatic run of the beautiful Kickinghorse River. Adjacent Yoho National Park, the river is a scenic jaunt west of Lake Louise, on the British Columbia side. The “Horse” is a classic run that offers continuous Class III-IV whitewater. If conditions are right, we may also try the lower canyon where even the most intrepid adventurers pause for concern! Tonight we will overnight and dine at the exclusive Emerald Lake Lodge. Hiking trails and spectacular vistas are a few of the nature-made superlatives.
Day 3 - Emerald Lake to Panorama Resort
Today we will be up early to run either the Spillimacheen River or Toby Creek. The “Spilly” is a little known prize jewel in the heart of the Bugaboos. It has a creeky start with a high-volume finish as the Bobby Burns River doubles our flow. The Toby can be challenged by raft or inflatable kayak. The real treat however, is the scenery and game viewing. Inundated with moose and bear, participants are rarely disappointed. In either case, tonight we overnight at Panorama Resort where amenities abound.
Day 4 - Panorama Resort
Today guests can try their hands at Panorama’s mountain bike trails and park, horseback ride, hike or even play a round of golf at an award-winning course. Tonight we’ll dine in style and soak up the views at sunset.
Day 5 - Panorama to St. Eugene's Mission
We will be up early and heading to the White River for back-to-back runs. This river features non-stop excitement and a great opportunity for folks to try the inflatable kayaks. S-Bend rapid is a renowned Class IV section with steep canyon walls over 2000 feet in height. No run of the White would be complete without a late afternoon soak in the Lussier hot springs before heading to our final resort of the trip—St. Eugene’s Mission. Here you can test “Lady Luck” in its casino or simply kick back in any of the acclaimed restaurant facilities.
Day 6 - Return to Calgary
After breakfast it is off to Calgary and return flights home.
